The head of the EU Delegation in Azerbaijan, Peter Mikhalko, stated that the European Union (EU) plans to support Azerbaijan's efforts in energy efficiency and "green policy" in the future, Azernews reports.

He made this remark at the B2B Forum on "Green technology and Sustainable Development" held in Baku.

Peter Mikhalko noted that through various bilateral projects, the EU has supported and plans to continue supporting the Azerbaijani government's efforts in energy efficiency, the development of "green policy," sustainable water management, and other areas critical for a sustainable future.

According to the diplomat, in anticipation of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) to be held in Baku this November, the EU has initiated a new partnership with Azerbaijan.

"Recently, we launched a public campaign to raise awareness about the conservation of natural resources leading up to COP29. The campaign is titled 'For Our Planet - Safe Water, Clean Air, Clean Land, and Green Energy.' As part of this campaign, we will conduct seminars, presentations, social media events, and various activities, including photo contests," he concluded.
