Russia's Astrakhan To Host North-South ITC Forum In November


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 5. November will see an international forum on the North-South International Transport Corridor (ITC) in Astrakhan, Russia, Trend reports.

“'ITC North-South - New Horizons'' forum will be held in Astrakhan on November 13-15. The event is organized to consolidate the stability of trade and economic ties of the CIS countries, the Middle East, South Asia, and East Africa and to form a new concept of ITC North-South work on the interaction of these markets,” Russian media wrote.

The topics of the forum range from the needs and export proposals for the use of ITC“North-South” from Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Afghanistan, countries of the Middle East, South Asia, East Africa, and the Global South; existing and new trade and transport hubs in the Middle East, South Asia, and East Africa, tariffs and transportation time on the branches of“North-South” and adjacent routes to financial schemes of payment movement and cargo insurance for work with the East and the Global South; parallel import and re-export in the new conditions. In addition to representatives of companies from the countries of these regions, experts from logistics companies, banking, financial, consulting, and trade structures are invited to participate in the forum.

To note, the North-South ITC has been developing since 2000 based on the Intergovernmental Agreement on the Establishment of the North-South ITC signed in St. Petersburg. At present, 12 countries, including Azerbaijan, are members of the corridor.
