Mass Poisoning In Warsaw: No Information On Ukrainians Affected Yet


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) As of July 28, there is no information about any Ukrainian citizens who have been affected by the massive chlorine poisoning in a swimming pool that occurred on July 26 in Warsaw.

This was reported to a Ukrinform correspondent by the Embassy of Ukraine in Poland.

“According to the Embassy, as of July 28, no official information has been received from the Polish competent authorities about the affected Ukrainians,” the Ukrainian diplomatic mission in Poland told the agency.

As reported by Ukrinform, on Friday, a massive chlorine poisoning in a swimming pool occurred in Warsaw, resulting in 60 people being evacuated and 21 others being taken to hospitals for examination. Among the victims of the poisoning were children. Most of the victims have been discharged from hospitals.

The incident occurred on July 26 in the evening at the Polonez swimming pool. Polish law enforcement officers detained three people to investigate the circumstances of the incident.

Subsequently, the Warsaw police reported that after investigative actions, two of the three detainees, who were involved in the maintenance of the pool, were released. The third person is scheduled to be questioned again on Sunday.

The police handed over the case file to the prosecutor's office. The cause of the incident has not yet been determined.

According to unofficial information from PAP, that day the chlorine level on the surface of the pool was three times higher than normal, and even ten times higher at the bottom.
