Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Seeks Federal Assistance For Law And Order: Requests Over 2.5 Billion PKR For Police Equipment


(MENAFN- Tribal News Network) In a significant move to bolster law and order, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has sought assistance from the federal government and submitted a summary to the Ministry of Interior for the procurement of essential equipment for the Police department.

According to official documents, the KP police have requested 2.57 billion PKR from the federal government. The requested amount includes 1.56 billion PKR for the purchase of vehicles, 400 million PKR for weaponry, 100 million PKR for technical equipment, and 500 million PKR for bulletproof vests and helmets.

This development comes in the wake of the KP Apex Committee meeting held earlier this week, where the demands of the Bannu Peace Jirga were unanimously approved. Among these demands was the call to empower the police to take decisive action against militants.

The KP government's request highlights the urgent need for enhanced resources to ensure the safety and security of the province amidst ongoing security challenges.
