Peace In Ukraine Must Be Achieved With Respect For Ukraine's Territorial Integrity - Borrell


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Stopping Russian aggression against Ukraine and achieving sustainable peace in Ukraine should not be done at the expense of Ukraine's capitulation, but based on compliance with its territorial integrity and respect for international law.

This was stated by EU High Representative Josep Borrell during a press conference in Woodstock, UK, where the summit of the European Political Community is taking place, reports an Ukrinform correspondent.

He noted that the meeting of the European Political Community in the UK provides a good opportunity for European nations to exchange views on the challenges and threats facing them, including the two wars - in Ukraine and in Gaza. Also, he noted that Europe is faced with foreign meddling in elections so the democracies must defend themselves and address the existing challenges, the top diplomat believes.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, on July 18, the UK is hosting the fourth summit of the European Political Community, which unites 27 members of the European Union and 20 partner countries, including Ukraine. The meeting is taking place at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the birthplace and family residence of former Prime Minister Winston Churchill. The first three summits were held in the Czech Republic (2022), Moldova (2023), and Spain (2023).
