Belgium To Donate EUR 150M For Reconstruction Projects In Ukraine - PM Shmyhal


(MENAFN- UkrinForm) Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal of Ukraine signed an agreement with his Belgian counterpart Alexander De Croo, which provides for the financing of reconstruction projects in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions worth EUR 150 million.

The prime minister announced this via Telegram , Ukrinform reports.

"Belgium will finance reconstruction projects in Ukraine worth EUR 150 million. The agreement that kick-starts these projects was signed with the Prime Minister of Belgium, Alexander De Croo, during an online meeting," he wrote.

The funds will be directed to the restoration of energy and social infrastructure in Kyiv and Chernihiv regions.

The head of government added that the deal will streamline the implementation of joint programs and projects and contribute to the country's restoration, economic and social development. Also, according to the agreement, the Belgian development agency Enabel will launch its representative office in Ukraine.

"We thank Belgium for its steadfast support for Ukraine in the fight for our freedom, independence, and European future," Shmyhal emphasized.

As Ukrinform reported earlier, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal held a meeting with his Czech counterpart Petr Fiala to discuss the economic and defense cooperation.
