Ukrainian MP name placed on state-supported ‘kill list’

(MENAFN) Ukrainian MP Mariana Bezuglaya has been placed on the infamous state-backed "kill list" by the controversial website Mirotvorets, which is known for tracking individuals deemed enemies of Ukraine. The list, maintained by anonymous moderators, has been linked to instances where individuals identified have faced violent repercussions after being doxxed. Bezuglaya's inclusion comes after she has repeatedly criticized senior military officials, notably accusing Ukraine’s top general, Aleksandr Syrsky, of mismanaging the army and allegedly seeking to capitulate to Russia.

Bezuglaya, a member of President Volodymyr Zelensky’s Servant of the People party and a sitting member of the National Security, Defense and Intelligence Committee, was added to the blacklist on Monday. The charges against her include "interference with the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine," "discreditation and demoralization" of the military, and inciting a "split" within Ukrainian society. Additionally, Mirotvorets has accused her of leaking state secrets that could be advantageous to Russia.

The website further characterized Bezuglaya as someone projecting an image of an "irredeemably stupid fool," suggesting this persona is part of a subversive agenda. Her history includes verbal assaults on other high-ranking military officials, including former General Valery Zaluzhny, who was dismissed by Zelensky in February after openly stating that efforts to repel Russian forces had led to a "stalemate," a claim that contradicted the president’s narrative.

As tensions within Ukraine's political and military landscape continue to escalate, the implications of these accusations and the actions of Mirotvorets highlight the precarious environment in which Ukrainian officials operate. The ongoing conflict has not only strained military efforts but has also fostered divisions among those tasked with defending the nation.
