Chinese state railways announce increase in passenger numbers in summer

(MENAFN) China State Railway Group Co., Ltd. has reported a significant surge in railway passenger numbers, with 211 million passengers recorded between July 1 and 15, according to figures released recently. This marks a 6.5 percent increase compared to the same period last year, with an average of 14.03 million passengers traveling daily during the first half of July. The rise in passenger numbers has been attributed to robust demand driven by summer holidays, particularly from students, as well as increased tourism and family visits.

To manage the high volume of passengers effectively, the railway company has implemented a comprehensive summer passenger transportation plan. This plan includes enhancing transportation capacity, implementing measures to facilitate and support passenger travel, and ensuring reliable safety measures and stable operational conditions. These efforts are aimed at ensuring safe and orderly travel experiences for passengers during the peak summer travel season, which extends from July 1 to August 31.

The company's commitment to providing efficient and secure railway services underscores its dedication to meeting the heightened demand for travel across China.
