Trouble For Harbhajan, Yuvraj Singh And Suresh Raina As Disability Rights Group Files Complaint Over Tauba Tauba Video

(MENAFN- Live Mint) A disability rights group has filed a complaint against several prominent cricketers after their take on the viral Tauba Tauba trend . The now-deleted clip had featured Harbhajan Singh, Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh grooving to the hit Vicky Kaushal song. Their awkward movements however sparked furious debate about 'mocking' people with disabilities.
According to reports, the National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People has lodged a complaint with the Amar Colony Police station in New Delhi. The case was filed by Arman Ali - the executive director of NCPEDP - and also names Meta India's Sandhya Devanathan.
The complaint accused Instagram (which is owned by Meta) of violating the Information Technology Act by allowing such content to be posted.
Harbhajan had taken the video down and issued an apology earlier on Monday amid widespread criticism.

The deleted Instagram video had featured Harbhajan, Raina and Yuvraj Singh limping and holding their backs to show the physical toll their bodies had taken during the World Championship of Legends held recently in England. The former cricketers shared the video after India Champions beat Pakistan Champions by five wickets in the final of the tournament.
Several people including Badminton player Manasi Joshi had criticised the video and called for the cricketers trio to be more responsible and avoid poking fun at handicapped people.
“This isn't legendary if you're mocking gait patterns of people with polio. This will enable bullying of young children with disabilities in India. You don't know how much harm your behaviour can do. The appreciation you're getting from people around is appalling to see," she had written in the comment section.
Manasi also claimed that the video would lead to more young children with disabilities being bulled by using the reel.
“If any of you athletes would have done responsible community service in disability space area, you all would not have come up with this reel,” she added.
