Chinese Explorer Returns Samples From Moon's Far Side

(MENAFN- Khaama Press) China has announced the successful return of the Chang'e 6 lunar explorer mission from the far side of the Moon to Earth, marking the first-ever retrieval of valuable samples from this hidden lunar hemisphere.
The Chang'e 6 explorer, which landed on the far side of the Moon in May for the first time globally, successfully touched down yesterday, Tuesday, June 25th, in a region in northern China.
This explorer, translated in Persian as“Goddess of the Moon,” is the first mission to visit the far side of the Moon's surface and has brought samples back to Earth for further study.
From the launch of this explorer to the sample collection and its return to orbit for landing on Earth, China encountered no issues, describing this mission as an“unprecedented human achievement in lunar exploration.”
According to reports from French researchers cited by the news agency, the samples of rock and soil (approximately two kilograms) collected from this lunar far side likely differ from samples collected near the Moon's visible side.
This successful mission underscores China's advancements in space exploration and its significant contributions to expanding our understanding of the Moon's geological and scientific mysteries.
