Kuwait Municipality Cautions Against Discarding Unused Items Before Buildings

(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, June 15 (KUNA) -- The Kuwaiti Municipality on Saturday demanded people not to dump unused items involving old furniture before their apartment buildings, warning that fines would be imposed on violators as per the Municipal Law.
The warning came in the aftermath of a recent large fire that engulfed an apartment building and left 49 people dead and several others injured at Al-Mangaf Area in Kuwait's southern Al-Ahmadi Governorate.
In a press statement, the municipality underlined that it had removed more than 64 tons of old furniture across the governorate over the last few days.
It added that municipal teams had collected at least 568 tons of scrapped items at investment and commercial areas nationwide over the last couple of days. (end)
