South Korean Daewoo E&C Plans To Participate In Construction Of New Plants In Turkmenistan

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, June 14. South Korean
Daewoo Engineering & construction announced its intention to
participate in tenders for the construction of two large plants for
the production of mineral fertilizers in the cities of Kiyanli and
Turkmenabat in Turkmenistan, Trend reports.
According to an official source, this was stated by the chairman
of Daewoo Engineering & Construction, Jung Won-ju, who, as part of
the business delegation, held a number of important meetings with
Turkmen officials.
At the talks with Deputy Prime Minister of Turkmenistan Batyr
Amanov, heads of state concerns Turkmengaz, Turkmennebit, and
Turkmenhimiya, Jung Won-ju noted a favorable investment climate and
atmosphere for further expansion of cooperation between the two
countries.
"Turkmenistan has huge potential for business in various
sectors, including the development of new cities, industrial
facilities, and infrastructure, due to its rich natural resources.
We are striving to strengthen our position in the Central Asian
market, contributing to the further strengthening of friendly
relations between our countries after this historic state visit,"
said the head of the South Korean company.
Meanwhile, in November last year, South Korean Daewoo
Engineering & Construction opened its branch in the Turkmen capital
Ashgabat to work more effectively in the fast-growing market of
Turkmenistan.
Turkmenistan is implementing 14 investment projects with the
participation of South Korean companies, the amount of which
currently exceeds $11 billion.
