Israeli gunfire kills two Palestinians

(MENAFN) In the early hours of Tuesday, Israeli Occupation forces fatally shot two Palestinian civilians near the Nitzani Oz checkpoint (Crossing 104), west of Tulkarm. According to the Palestinian news agency Wafa, a security source confirmed that Abdel Fattah Salah al-Din Jabara and Ahmed Mustafa Muhammad Rajab, both from the Tulkarm refugee camp, were killed in the incident. The Israeli forces subsequently withheld the bodies of the deceased.

In response to this tragic event, labor factions, national institutions, and community organizations within the Tulkarm Governorate expressed their grief and declared a day of mourning on Tuesday to honor the lives of the two martyrs.

The deadly encounter unfolded when Israeli forces opened fire on a vehicle at the Nitzani Oz checkpoint, effectively preventing ambulances from reaching the scene to provide aid. The situation escalated further as Israeli forces launched an incursion into the western neighborhood of Tulkarm. They established positions along the street adjacent to the Almoravid Mosque and deployed snipers in the vicinity, particularly near the Geshori chemical plants.

Eyewitnesses reported that the Israeli forces fired heavily and indiscriminately at anything that moved, striking a passing vehicle. The blockade on ambulances continued, hindering emergency response efforts. It was later discovered that the two young men in the targeted vehicle had succumbed to their injuries.

This latest incident of violence has deepened the sorrow and heightened the anger within the Tulkarm community, underlining the persistent tensions and the severe impact on Palestinian civilians living under occupation.
