Azerbaijani FM Holds Debates With Special Envoy Of Russian President


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 2. Azerbaijani ForeignMinister Jeyhun Bayramov met with Special Representative of thePresident of the Russian Federation for International CulturalCooperation Mikhail Shvydkoy, who is on a visit to the country toparticipate in the VI World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue,Trend reports.

The meeting discussed bilateral and multilateral cooperationbetween Azerbaijan and Russia, preparations for the 29th session ofthe Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention onClimate Change (COP29), as well as the current regionalsituation.

Minister Jeyhun Bayramov emphasized the active participation andcontribution of the Russian side to prestigious internationalevents held in our country, including the VI World Forum onIntercultural Dialogue. It was emphasized that the existinghigh-level dialogue between the leaders of the two countries, aswell as intensive contacts, contribute to the development ofrelations between the countries. The importance of continuingbilateral cooperation between the two countries within regional andinternational formats was noted.

Referring to the work done within the framework of Azerbaijan'schairmanship of COP29, the Minister noted new opportunities forcooperation in this direction.

Informing about the current regional situation in thepost-conflict period, including the process of normalizingrelations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, the Minister noted thatthe recent agreement reached between the delimitation commissionsis a very positive progress within the peace agenda. He noted thatour country is determined to achieve real results in all elementsof the normalization process.

The Special Representative of the President of the RussianFederation, Mikhail Shvydkoy, highlighted the broad prospects forcooperation between the two countries in various fields, especiallyeducation, culture, technology, and innovation, and emphasized theimportance of joint activities in this direction.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on otherissues of mutual interest.
