Hungary Welcomes Work On Demarcation Of Azerbaijan-Armenia Border (UPDATED)


(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 25. Hungary welcomeswork on demarcation of the border between Azerbaijan and Armenia,Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártósaid, Trend reports.

He made the remark at a media briefing within the 10th sessionof the Joint Commission on Economic Cooperation between thegovernments of Azerbaijan and Hungary.

The minister noted that Hungary is ready to assist in restoringpeace between the two countries.

“Hungary is also ready to support Azerbaijan in demining theliberated territories,” Szijjarto added.

To note, the eighth meeting of the State Commission onDelimitation of the State Border between the Republic of Azerbaijanand the Republic of Armenia and the Commission on Delimitation ofthe State Border and Border Security between the Republic ofArmenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan was held on April 19, 2024,at the border between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republicof Armenia.

At the initial stage of the delimitation process, the partiestentatively agreed on the passage of certain segments of the borderline directly between the settlements of Baganis (RA) - BaganysAyrim (AR), Voskepar (RA) - Ashagy Askipara (AR), Kirants (RA) –Kheyrimli (AR), and Berkaber (RA) - Gyzylhajily (AR), to bring themin line with the legally justified inter-republican border thatexisted within the Soviet Union at the time of its dissolution.
