Samsung Develops Hip-Assist Robot To Advance Fitness In The Elderly Robotics & Automation News

(MENAFN- Robotics & automation News) Samsung Electronics has developed what it describes as a“hip-assist robot to advance fitness in the elderly”.

EX1, as the robot is called, significantly improves physical functions and balance in older adults, enhancing their quality of life and well-being.

With aging, walking function deteriorates, including a decrease in stride length, decreased balance, and decreased propulsion.

However, resistance and balance exercises can improve physical function in older adults. In a new study, researchers from Korea evaluated the efficiency of a new wearable hip-assist robot, EX1, in improving the mobility, dynamic balance, and range of movement in the elderly.

The results show that EX1 can effectively improve functional gait among older adults.
