EU nation takes away female ice dancer`s citizenship due to Russia`s behavior

(MENAFN) Lithuanian legislators have launched a procedure to cancel the citizenship of the Moscow-born ice dancer, Margarita Drobiazko, because of her contribution in an occurrence in Russia in 2022. Representatives also quoted her affairs to protuberant Russian personals as a motive for the change.

“After evaluating all the factors, we submit an appeal to the President of the Republic of Lithuania … whether the motives [to revoke Drobiazko’s citizenship] are justified or not,” deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Arnoldas Abramavicius, stated at a media meeting on Friday, in line with a domestic press.

The deputy minister also mentioned that there are no “accusations” that Drobiazko is “some kind of terrorist” however, stated that “support to the aggressor state can be both moral and financial.”
