Bassem Claims Gold Medal At Asian Championships, Books Olympic Berth

Qatar's Bassem Hemeida poses for a picture with Qatar Athletics Federation (QAF) President Mohammed Issa Al Fadala after winning a gold medal in 400m hurdles at the Asian Athletics Championships in Bangkok, yesterday.

Bassem clocked 48.64 secs to finish ahead of Japan's Yusaku Kodama, who took silver medal with a time of 48.96 secs. India's Santhosh Kumar secured bronze medal.

By winning the title, Bassem, qualified for the next month's World Championships in Hungary and the 2024 Paris Olympics.
