Taliban closes beauty parlors in Afghanistan


(MENAFN) The Taliban has given a one-month closing notice to all beauty parlors all over the nation as the Islamist group has been progressively narrowing its grip on control, while breathing life in Afghanistan in accordance with the firm religious customs the it follows.

“The deadline for the closing of beauty parlors for women is one month,” an official for the Ministry for the Prevention of Vice as well as Propagation of Virtue, Mohammad Sadiq Akif, informed a news agency on Tuesday.

The directive, dated June 24, was allegedly “based on verbal instruction from the supreme leader” Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, however, the established order did not clarify the precise perceptive. The official informed the news agency that “once they are closed then we will share the reason with the media.”

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) advised establishments to cancel the prohibition, stating that this “new restriction on women’s rights will impact negatively on the economy.”
