Egyptian FM Calls For De-Escalation In Occupied Palestine


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) CAIRO, June 12 (KUNA) -- Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, on Monday, called for regional and international efforts to de-escalate the situation in the occupied Palestinian lands in order to set the scene for the revival of the Middle East peace process.
Shourky's statement came during his meeting with UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, Tor Wenneslan, said the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.
The statement revealed that Shoukry had expressed deep worry over the increase of violence in the West bank due to Israeli continuous aggression that led to several casualties and tension in the region.
On his part, Wenneslan expressed gratitude towards Egypt's crucial role in the Middle East peace process and efforts to find a viable solution for the Palestinian cause. (end)
