Students Of The Dual Degree Program Conclude Their Field Trip To Berlin

Within the academic exchange of expertise between the Doha Institute for graduate Studies DI and the European School of Management and technology ESMT in Berlin, the Dual Degree Executive program has concluded its field visit to Berlin which lasted seven days from the 3rd till the 10th of June 2023.

The visit is a requirement in the study plan as the students are required to attend classes on the campus of ESMT introducing them to different techniques in the management of international organizations in general and best practices of German institutions in particular. In addition to raising awareness of the new theories in administration in order to merge theory into practice in the private and governmental institutions in Qatar and the Arab world.

During the visit, the students participated in several activities that expanded their knowledge and supported it with practice. They have also attended three sessions in the fields of creative administration, finance management, and corporate finance. His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah Bin Mohammed Bin Saud Al Thani, Qatar Ambassador to Germany, invited the students to the Arab Cultural House ( Al Diwan ) for a rich and effective discussion on digitalization and artificial intelligence. The ambassador spoke of the history of Qatari-German relations, its future, and the efforts invested in strengthening it. He has complemented the partnership of the DI with ESMT as it is considered the first of its kind in Germany and the eighth in Europe in the field of Business Administration.

Professor Zultan Antal-Mokos, Executive Director of ESMT, expressed his pleasure with this visit and its importance to the partnership between both parties which is basically a partnership with the state of Qatar, its people and its community. The dual degree program is a representation of this collaboration through the exchange of knowledge, peer learning and applied approaches beyond theoretical learning.

Dr. Tamer Qarmout, Head of the Public Administration Program at the DI, emphasized the role of this visit in providing the students with skills of administration and governance, Decision-making, Public Policy, critical thinking and analysis through the use of applied research locally and worldwide.

The visit contributes to the Doha Institute's vision and responsibility towards achieving the objectives of Qatar's Strategic Vision 2030; In terms of human development and social development through interaction with other societies, playing a role in the global partnership for development, and developing a diversified economy. It also reflects applying theories into practice, which is one of the main pillars of the executive programs at the Doha Institute for Graduate Studies.
