Shamali Meets With Syrian Minister Of Social Affairs In Cairo


(MENAFN- Jordan Times) AMMAN - Minister of Industry, Trade and supply and Minister of Labour Yousef Shamali and Syrian Minister of Social Affairs Loui Munjid on Tuesday discussed ways to boost ties between the two countries, primarily in relation to social work.

The meeting was held on the sidelines of a pan-Arab meeting on labour currently being held in Cairo. Shamali is participating in the meeting in his capacity as labour minister, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported. Shamali expressed his optimism for Syria's return to the Arab fold, noting that the government, following directives by his majesty King Abdullah and instructions from Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, is ready to further enhance cooperation with Syria.

For his part, Munjid commended Jordan's expertise in the fields of labour, training and rehabilitation. The Syrian minister suggested arranging a visit to Jordan for him and his team to take advantage of the Kingdom's expertise and implement it in the Syrian context.
