IGTC’s yearly gas transmission estimated to reach 280b cubic meters


(MENAFN) Natural gas transmission through Iran’s national network is estimated to amount to 280 billion cubic meters in the ongoing Iranian calendar year 1402 (started on March 21), Iranian Gas Transmission Company (IGTC)’s Managing Director Gholam-Abbas Hosseini declared.

While giving a speech on the offshoots of the 27th Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2023) on Saturday, Hosseini stated that the capacity of gas transmitted via the nation’s network rose by 2.2 percent in the last year.

As IRNA mentioned in a report, the official stated NIGTC delivers natural gas to 2,200 pressure reduction stations, cities, as well as large sectors including petrochemicals and power plants.

“Gas is also stored at Shourijeh and Sarajeh storage facilities and injected into oil wells at three points,” he continued.

Hosseini pointed out that NIGTC functions the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC)’s biggest physical asset which is the nation’s national gas network, asserting that “In total, there are 39,000 kilometers of high-pressure gas transmission lines, 90 pressure reduction stations, 61 operating yards and 330 compressors operating under NIGTC across the country.”
