(MENAFN- Oman Sail ) 29 April 2023, Muscat – Dr Khamis Al Jabri, Chief Executive Officer of Oman Sail, has been named in the top rated 100 Arabian CEOs of the year by the G2T Global Awards. Dr Al Jabri joins a group of leaders from across the region, representing a diverse variety of sectors including energy, industry, tourism, education, food production, health and sport. The announcement was made at the official G2T Global Awards ceremony that took place in Marrakech, Morocco on 27 April.
Since taking office in 2020, Dr Al Jabri has successfully led Oman Sail to a number of notable achievements. These include enabling Oman Sail to deliver socio-economic benefits for Oman through community programmes, the investment in sport development and attracting international events to be hosted in Oman. Dr Al Jabri played an instrumental role in leading the sailing teams to continued excellence and success as well as enhancing community programmes that introduce the sport of sailing to wider audiences. Several national, regional, and prestigious international events in Oman since 2020, such as the Youth Sailing World Championship in 2021 and the RS Venture Connect World Championship in 2022 - the first-ever exclusively para-sailing event to be staged in Oman. Moreover, Dr Khamis’s leadership enabled Oman Sail to share its expertise with the sporting community, joining hands with World Athletics and Oman Athletic Association to bring the World Race Walking Team Championships 2022 and with the International Table Tennis Federation and Oman Table Tennis Federation to host the World Veteran Table Tennis Championships 2023 in Muscat.
