Supply Issues for Poultry Farmers Resolved in Iran

(MENAFN) According to an adviser to the Poultry Farmers Union, the problem of supplying food to poultry farmers in Iran has recently been solved. Mohammad-Ali Kamali stated that the increase in the price of chicken meat is partly due to high prices and partly related to production costs. In the past, producers and breeders of the poultry industry had difficulties in supplying food, particularly soybean meal, which was scarce in the last month of the previous Iranian calendar year (ended on March 20) due to problems with traders. However, this problem has now been resolved.

Kamali also mentioned that last year, chicken farmers used their previous equipment and facilities for a while due to the implementation of the subsidy popularization plan. However, due to the imbalance between supply and demand for chicken meat, the price of this product was lower than the approved price in the market.

The problem of soybean meal supply had been a concern for poultry farmers, as it is a vital source of protein in chicken feed. The shortage of soybean meal caused a rise in its price, which in turn affected the cost of producing chicken meat. However, the recent resolution of this issue is expected to positively impact the poultry industry and improve the supply of chicken meat in the market.

The subsidy popularization plan, which aimed to reduce the prices of essential goods for consumers, had also affected the poultry industry. Despite the plan's intentions, it caused an oversupply of chicken meat in the market, leading to a lower price than the approved rate. However, with the imbalance between supply and demand now potentially resolved, the price of chicken meat may stabilize in the market.

Overall, the resolution of the soybean meal supply issue is a positive development for the poultry industry in Iran, which has been facing challenges in recent times. The industry is a significant contributor to the country's agricultural sector and plays a vital role in meeting the demand for protein in the country.
