Pentagon Possesses Classified Footage of Unidentified Flying Objects Shot Down by American Fighter Jets

(MENAFN) According to a report by the UK's Daily Mail newspaper, the Pentagon has admitted to possessing video or still images of three unidentified flying objects (UFOs) that American fighter jets shot down over the US and Canada last month. However, the footage is classified, and there are currently no plans to make it public.

The decision to keep the footage secret is in contrast to the Pentagon's quick release of a photo that a US Air Force pilot took of an alleged Chinese spy balloon over Montana in early February. US officials also provided photos of the balloon being recovered after it was shot down off the coast of South Carolina a few days later.

Tensions were high over the Chinese balloon, and President Joe Biden's administration faced criticism for allowing it to traverse the continent. In response, US forces reportedly shot down at least three still unidentified objects between February 10 and 12. One was described as a "car-size object" taken down over Alaska, while another was "cylindrical" and was hit over Canada's Yukon Territory. The third object was intercepted and shot down over Lake Huron. All three were taken out with Sidewinder missiles.

The existence of the classified footage of the UFOs raises questions about the US government's knowledge and response to unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), which have been a topic of interest in recent years. While the US Navy has confirmed the authenticity of several UAP videos, the shooting down of these three objects has not been officially confirmed. The Pentagon's decision to keep the footage classified adds to the mystery surrounding these incidents.
