Ethiopian Minister Of State For Foreign Affairs Calls On Qatari Businesspersons To Invest In His Country

Doha: The Chairman of Qatar Chamber HE sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani met with the Minister of State of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia Mesganu Arega and his accompanying delegation.

The meeting touched on enhancing economic cooperation between Qatar and Ethiopia, reviewing the investment opportunities available and encouraging Qatari investors to invest in Ethiopia.

It discussed the possibility to hold a joint business forum that brings together Qatari businessmen and their counterparts from Ethiopia to explore areas of cooperation and partnership in various sectors.

Speaking at the meeting, the Ethiopian Minister Mesganu Arga praised the distinguished relations between Qatar and Ethiopia and Qatars amazing host of the FIFA World Cup 2022.

Also, he noted that his country is developing its investment legislation to attract more investments, indicating that it offers a host of incentives and tax exemptions that enhance the investment climate and attract foreign investors, as well as the easiness of doing business and capital transfer.

Arga called on Qatari investors to visit his country to get acquainted with the investment opportunities it offers in a number of sectors, such as agriculture, hospitality, tourism, real estate, industry, and energy.

For his part, the QC Chairman paid tribute to the close relations between both countries, stressing that Qatari investors are keen to learn about the opportunities galore in Ethiopia.

He also underscored the chamber's interest in encouraging Qatari businessmen to enhance cooperation with their Ethiopian counterparts and find out opportunities available there.
