Jordanian Aid Planes To Land In Syria, Turkiye On Wednesday

Amman, Feb. 8 (Petra) -- One of several Jordanian aid planes took off on Wednesday to the Syrian city of Latakia and some areas in Turkiye under royal directives to aid those affected by an earthquake that ravaged the two countries, killing and injuring thousands of people.
The Jordan Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), the only entity in Jordan responsible for raising and delivering aid, said more planes will be sent to other devastated areas in Syria and Turkiye.
The JHCO will also start sending aid convoys by land to all damaged areas in Syria in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces - Arab Army, and has established an emergency room to raise donations for the earthquake victims, said its Secretary-General Hussein Shibli.

Commenting on local efforts to aid Syria and Turkiye, Prime Minister Bisher Khasawneh, during a Lower House session earlier today, expressed appreciation for the private and public sectors' assistance by providing large quantities of medical supplies to be sent to those affected by the earthquake.
He affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is sparing no effort in checking up on Jordanians affected by the quake in Syria and Turkiye, offering his condolences to the victims' families and wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
