Police Take Down Suspected Drug Ring

Amman, Feb. 1 (Petra) -- A Police operation led to the takedown of a drug ring and the seizure of 68 palm-sized sheets of Hashish and 13,000 narcotic pills, in addition to four arrests of individuals suspected to be involved in the case.
Spokesperson of the Public Security Department said that the Anti-Narcotics Department (AND), following days-long intelligence gathering and investigation, carried out a raid on an undisclosed location in the capital Amman, apprehending four individuals. One of the suspects opened fire against officers, who managed to subdue him and bring him into custody. Another suspect in the case is still at large, the spokesperson added.
Upon a search of the site, the AND personnel found 21 palm-sized sheets of Hashish and 5,000 narcotic pills. Officers also found a storage place with 47 palm-sized sheets of Hashish and 8,000 narcotic pills.
