Belgian legend Hazard hang his boot from international football


(MENAFN) Belgian legend Eden Hazard on Wednesday declared he is hanging his boot from international football following 14 years of playing with Belgium.

"A page turns today… Thank you for your love. Thank you for your unparalleled support. Thank you for all this happiness shared since 2008. I have decided to put an end to my international career. The succession is ready. I will miss you…," Hazard stated on a publish he posted Instagram.

His declaration came days following Belgium’s group-stage knocked out from the World Cup in Qatar.

The winger who is 31 years old, who presently is a part of Real Madrid, played 126 international games and managed to score 33 goals for Belgium.

Hazard achieved a bronze medal in the 2018 FIFA World Cup as Belgium closed the tournament in the sitting at the third spot.

He achieved regional titles with France's Lille, England's Chelsea as well as Spain's Real Madrid, in addition to that he won the top-tier UEFA Champions League with Real Madrid last season.
