Cabinet Holds Weekly Meeting

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al-Thani chaired the Cabinet's regular meeting held at its seat at the Amiri Diwan on Wednesday afternoon.

Following the meeting, HE Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Sulaiti issued the following statement:

At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet welcomed the results of the talks of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HE Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Olaf Scholz, which took place within the framework of his official visit to the State of Qatar on Sunday.

The Cabinet affirmed that the visit of HE Olaf Scholz to Doha constituted an important addition to the course of the distinguished friendly relations between the State of Qatar and the Federal Republic of Germany and contributed to strengthening the strategic partnership between the two countries and developing their cooperation in various fields, as well as exchanging views on the regional and international developments.

Then, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:

First - The Cabinet approved a draft air services agreement between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of Belize.

Second - The Cabinet took the necessary measures to ratify an agreement on technical and economic cooperation in the field of infrastructure investments between the government of the State of Qatar and the government of the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

Third - The Cabinet followed up on the arrangements and preparations for hosting the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 and took the appropriate decision in this regard.

Fourth - The Cabinet reviewed the first and second reports on developments related to the implementation of Law No. 22 of 2021 regulating healthcare services within the country and took the appropriate decision regarding them.

Fifth - The Cabinet, through the presentation by HE Minister of Commerce and Industry on the public-private partnership (PPP) policy and projects, was briefed on the objectives of the partnership, including enhancing the participation of the private sector in the development of public assets, developing the capacity of the private sector, and encouraging competition to achieve a diversified local economy. Also, the Cabinet was briefed on the PPP policy and objectives, and its implemented projects, those under implementation, and future projects.

Sixth - The Cabinet listened to the presentation by HE President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau on the monthly report on Qataris employment via the Kawader platform, including the data on the number of job seekers registered on the platform, available jobs, replacement jobs, and job seekers' requests, the employment in the public and private sectors, interviews with job seekers in the government sector, and adjustments and solutions in this regard.
