Doha: The ambassadors of different countries to Qatar have commended the speech of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani at the opening session of 77th UN General Assembly which was held on Tuesday.
The Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to Qatar, H E Dr. M. Mustafa Göksu, stressed that the speech of Amir H H is an affirmation of Qatar's positions calling for dialogue and peace in the region and the world.
Ambassador Göksu highlighted that the consensus of visions between Türkiye and Qatar regarding the call for dialogue and peaceful resolution in conflict zones. He also stressed on“the realities of our world today depict a bleak image of the future of humanity, but we believe in dialogue, joint action, and an attempt by each party to understand the other by putting himself in someone else's position in order to see things from the perspective of that other party.”

The Turkish ambassador praised the renewal of the Amir on his country's position on the Palestinian issue, and the call for resolving the escalating crises in Libya, Yemen and Syria.
Göksu expressed his happiness that the Amir welcomed everyone to attend the 2022 FIFA World Cup as the first World Cup to be held for the first time in an Arab and Muslim country, and for the first time in the Middle East in general.
Stressing that Turkiye is closely following the process of organising the World Cup, the envoy said:“We in Turkiye are putting all our capabilities in front of our brothers in Qatar, and are ready to help in any way possible, and I am confident that Qatar will organize an exceptional tournament like never before”.
Ambassador of Japan H E Satoshi Maeda
Ambassador of the Embassy of Japan to the State of Qatar, H E Satoshi Maeda described the Amir's speech as“very powerful.”
“Overall, I had an impression that his speech was very powerful, thoughtful and well balanced. As he is the leader of Qatar and one of the leaders of Arab sates, it is natural for him to mention FIFA 2022 and regional problems in a large part of his speech. There were some interesting phrases in his speech, but if I have to pick one, I was impressed by the part in which he referred to management of global crisis.”
Ambassador Maeda continued:“He pointed out“the absence of sufficient mechanisms to deter and sanction those who commit aggression against the sovereignty of states.
“As considering Russia-Ukraine war, I personally think this will become a main challenge human being has to tackle on over the next several decades and this showed his profound observation about international politics.”
Ambassador of Senegal H E Dr. Mouhamed Habib Diallo
Ambassador of the Republic of Senegal to the State of Qatar, H E Dr. Mouhamed Habib Diallo said:“We appreciate the speech of Amir His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani today in the midst of the 77th General Assembly of the United Nations, which includes all the events and developments in the region and the whole world, in diagnosing the concerns of nations and their troubles in putting an end to conflicts, disputes and disagreements to a vast land.
“From solutions through dialogue, securing sustainable security and energy, promoting education and global development by highlighting the growing role of the State of Qatar in the global community in various fields, and emphasizing the unparalleled diplomacy of Qatari sports as the first time in history hosted by an Arab and Islamic country and achieving all the elements of for the success of this global event, and to invite everyone to enjoy this competition Qatar FIFA 2022.”
Ambassador of Indonesia H E Ridwan Hassan
Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia to the State of Qatar, H E Ridwan Hassan said:“In addressing world's current issues, Indonesia and Qatar shared many similarities. The two countries for example set the same position in supporting the people of Palestine in their aspirations for justice.
The same position also appeared on the necessity to strengthen global bodies such as the United Nations. Both countries give their full support to the idea of strengthening the United Nations in order to achieve its objectives.
“Secondly, as H H mentioned in his speech that our world now turned into a global village, I definitely agreed with what H H mentioned, hence our world today needs multilateral cooperation more than ever. In addressing world's major issues such as pandemic of COVID-19, climate change, renewable energy transition, multilateralism would be the key.”
“Thirdly, at bilateral level, I should mention that the cooperation between Qatar and Indonesia has been cemented by strong relations of its people. Therefore, apart from its excellent relations at government level, I perceived the contacts and collaboration among our people should be strengthened and becomes the foundation of our relations,” Ambassador Ridwan concluded.
Ambassador of Bangladesh H E Md Jashim Uddin
Ambassador of Bangladesh to Qatar H E Md Jashim Uddin has said that speech of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani reflects Qatar's leadership role in multiple areas in both peace and troubled times in international relations.
'The speech has been anchored in Qatar's firm belief in the principles of the UN Charter, respect for the sovereignty of States and in Qatar's time tested effective role in mediation diplomacy.'
The Ambassador added: 'The speech rightly highlighted the Palestinian cause as we in Bangladesh also continue to urge for the rights of our Palestinian brothers and sisters and for action to establish those rights.'
The Ambassador said that the integral nature of the contemporary world makes these conflicts truly global, disrupting supply chains, affecting energy and food prices among others. 'We also note in agreement his genuine realization that the approaches and methods haven't evolved to cope with the transformative changes the world has been witnessing.'
He said that Qatar's leading role in mitigating energy shortage crisis by expanding the North Gas field is laudable and His Highness the Amir's vision in this regard is timely and visionary.
