France deals with power stoppages of couple of hours daily in worst-case condition

(MENAFN) French families could deal with power stoppages that could last for two hours if the energy crisis deepens this winter, the nation’s national electricity operative stated in an announcement.

The RTE offered three scenarios for the approaching winter and noted that just in the worst-case scenario there could be numerous hours of power stoppages.

Throughout the winter months, RTE foresees a little "red signals" on the EcoWatt online platform, the operator stated in its announcement.

The EcoWatt is an online platform that indicates in real time the power intake in France, and it can also send SMS to consumers, cautioning them in case of emergency.

The organism uses three colors: green (normal), orange (tight electrical system) and finally red, which indicates "very tight" situation.

The RTE stated that dangerous conditions are not the most possible.

The threat of a power stoppage might be dodged by declining intake by 1 percent to 5 percent in the average scenario, and by up to 15 percent in the highest extreme condition, as said by the operator.
