In a newsletter issued in the province of Ghor, the Taliban chief of Police for the province reported that a traffic accident happened on Friday, September 9, in police district 1 of Firuzkoh city, the provincial capital.
According to the newsletter, the first accident took place as a motorcycle deviated from the road and tipped over, resulting in one fatality and one injury.
Another statement from the Taliban security officials in Ghor province stated that on Friday morning, a vehicle of the type of a fielder veered off the road and overturned in the Punba Kar region of Ghor
The vehicle was reportedly traveling from Firozkoh city to the village of Gholmin, to the north of the provincial capital. This incident did not result in any injuries.
In the third traffic accident, according to the health officials of the Ghor Provincial Hospital, two people were injured and were transported to the hospital from Firozkoh.
Driver carelessness and irresponsibility are directly linked to the recent increase in fatal traffic accidents in Afghanistan.
Other major problems that significantly increase the number of traffic deaths in Afghanistan every day include speeding, dangerous driving routes, reckless drivers, and a lack of traffic signals.
