(MENAFN) Turkish Leader Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Saturday respected broad contribution of youths in Teknofest, the nation’s biggest technology event.

"The adoption of a technology event by our youth is truly an intellectual revolution," Erdogan announced at the event in the Black Sea province of Samsun.

Erdogan also noted Teknofest has changed to a "feast" since 600,000 youths from 154,000 teams from Türkiye and 107 different nations participated in 40 several branches.

2022’s Teknofest festival features technology competitions in over 40 different categories like semiconductors, drones, satellites, rockets, robotics and artificial intelligence.

“Today alone, our unmanned combat aerial vehicles proudly represent our country in more than 30 countries worldwide," Erdogan added.

Regarding the recently designed Turkish fighter drone Kizil Elma, which was displayed for the first time in Samsun, Erdogan declared it is viewed as a "game-changing move" in army history.

"The reason why we are proud of many technology-based breakthroughs is not our enthusiasm for war, but our obligation to keep our country powerful," he continued.
