21 Afghan Sikhs, Hindus Set To Land In New Delhi

KABUL (Pajhwok): Another group of 21 Afghan Sikhs and Hindus are all poised to arrive in New Delhi today (Thursday), an Indian newspaper reported.

With members of the minority aboard, a Kam Air flight would depart Kabul shortly for New Delhi, The Indian Express reported.

Puneet Singh Chandhok, president of the Indian World Forum, was quoted as saying that was among the minority members

“An infant who has been facilitated without a visa is also part of the group,” he said.

The evacuation process has been facilitated by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) in coordination with the Indian World Forum and the government in New Delhi.

The newspaper said 130 Afghan Hindus and Sikhs were still in Afghanistan. The Indian government is yet to decide on about 60 visa applications from the Afghan minority members.
