Dhaka : Ticket sales for Biman Bangladesh Airlines' Dhaka-Toronto flight began on June 27 as the flag carrier is finally launching the much-awaited commercial passenger flights on the route from July 27.
The airline, in a press release, said, travellers from any part of the world will be able to buy tickets from Biman's sale centers, approved travel agencies, the airline's website and call center 01990997997.
However, the airline said, after completing some necessary formalities, travel agents of Canada will also be able to sell and book tickets using the airline's website soon.
The airline will operate two weekly flights on the route, on every Wednesday and Sunday.
Biman's flight on Dhaka-Toronto route (BG 305) will take off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital at 3:30 am every Wednesday. After flying for around 8 hours and 30 minutes, the flight will land in Istanbul Airport for refueling at 09:00 am. After a one-hour stopover, the flight will depart from Istanbul and fly to Toronto in around 11 hours at 01:55 pm.
On Sundays, the flight will leave Dhaka at 03:00 am and reach Istanbul for refueling at 8:30 am. After a break of one hour, the flight will leave for Toronto and reach at 01:25 pm.
The return flights will leave Toronto for Dhaka on the same days in the afternoon. The direct return flights will land in Dhaka airport after flying for around 16 hours.
Every Wednesday, Biman's flight will leave Toronto at 7:30 pm and reach Dhaka at 9:30 pm on Thursday while every Sunday, the flight will leave Toronto at 9:00 pm and reach Dhaka directly at 11:00 pm on Monday.
Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner will be used on the Dhaka-Toronto route.
It may be mentioned here the airline is offering attractive discounts on air tickets to celebrate the milestone of launching the much-awaited flights on the route.
Passengers from Bangladesh can avail 15 per cent discount if they purchase air tickets by July 20 while passengers from Canada can avail 25 per cent discount.
However, passengers need to travel between July 27 and August 20. After that, passengers from Canada can only avail 15 per cent discount.
From Bangladesh, with 15 per cent discount, one-way starting fares on economy, premium economy, and business class are BDT 90,510, BDT 1,27,300 and BDT 1,64,100 respectively while round trip starting fares are BDT 1,53,370, BDT 2,34,355, and BDT 3,04,302 respectively.
From Toronto, with 25 per cent discount, one-way starting fares on economy, premium economy, and business class are CAD 690, CAD 1230 and CAD 1860 respectively while round trip fares start from CAD 1233, CAD 2178 and CAD 3078 respectively.
