After mocking his shirtless photos, Putin claims Western leaders would appear 'disgusting' topless

(MENAFN) Western politicians would appear "disgusting" if they undressed "above or below the waist," according to Vladimir Putin.

The Russian president retaliated after G7 leaders mocked his fondness for bare-chested picture opportunities at the conference.

As the G7 leaders sat down for discussions, Boris Johnson quipped that they might strip naked to "show that we're tougher than Putin" amid concerns over Moscow's military intervention in Ukraine.

Leaders should "show them our pecs", he highlighted.

Canada's Justin Trudeau chimed in, suggesting they could put on a "bare-chested horseback riding display," referring to one of Putin's well-publicized sporting exploits.

"Oh yes," EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen said. "The finest sport is horseback riding."

Mr. Putin was questioned about Western politicians joking about him during a visit to Turkmenistan.

He remarked that Western politicians, unlike him, misuse booze and do not exercise.

"I don't know how they wanted to get undressed, above or below the waist," he stated. "But I think it would be a disgusting sight in any case."
