Makita And Nehmeh Celebrate 50 Years Of Partnership

Doha: Makita and Nehmeh celebrated 50 years of partnership together with the Embassy of Japan in Doha recently which was attended by Makita Gulf FZE (MGF) representatives, and an array of customers and partners at the Hilton Doha.

Speaking during the golden jubilee celebration, Raja Assili, CEO of Nehmeh highlighted that with trust, common goals, and complimentary skills, Makita and Nehmeh today are a dominant force in the marketplace.

He said:“Our partnership is held together by our heritage and our ambitions. Makita was founded in 1915, some 20 years after the first portable electric drill was invented. Ever since, the company has expanded its product range to deliver a comprehensive set of power tools. Nehmeh was founded in 1955, and grew from modest beginnings to become a name synonymous with industrial solutions in Qatar”.

Takeshi Murazawa, Counsellor from the Embassy of Japan who gave a speech on behalf of the Ambassador said:“Makita has devoted itself to provide products and services that meet customers' needs. The successful and remarkable story of Makita and Nehmeh is the outcome of the persistent process and effort of internal variation and innovative management work. Makita and Nehmeh is now considered as a key market player in growth and development of Qatar”.

Over the years, Makita and Nehmeh played a significant role in the most remarkable projects in Qatar such as the construction of the iconic stadia for the FIFA World Cup 2022, Asian Games in 2006, the Doha metro and many more. 

Goto Nobuo, Managing Director of MGF also stressed the positive outlook for the Qatari market during the event. 

The celebration also awarded outstanding distribution partners over the years: Longest Service Partner-Lulu Rayyan Trading and Contracting; Biggest Product Mix Partner-Fakhruddin Kaderbhai Trading; Partner with the Highest Makita Accessories Business-Qatar Technical Aluminium; and Partner with the Biggest Makita Tools Fleet-Construction Development Company.

Simon Nehme, Partner & Chairman of the Nehmeh Board, closed the program highlighting the company's heritage.
