President Of Turkmenistan Instructs To Strengthen Control Over Construction Of New City

BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 29. President of
Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with
the progress and quality of the construction of the new
administrative center of the Akhal region and instructed to
strengthen control over the construction of the new city, Trend reports citing
Turkmenportal.
He stated this at an expanded session of the Cabinet of
Ministers of Turkmenistan.
Berdimuhamedov expressed dissatisfaction with the quality of the
building materials used and non-compliance with the deadlines of
ongoing construction work.
The president also demanded to take measures to accelerate the
pace of commissioning of facilities according to the established
schedule.
According to him, it is necessary to strengthen control over the
construction of facilities related to education, science, health
and sports.
The new administrative center of the Akhal region, worth $1.5
billion, is designed for 12,300 families and is being built 30
kilometers southwest of the Turkmen capital. This large-scale
project has been in implementation since April 2019.
