Qatar airways enters the metaverse with virtual cabin crew

Digital technology is playing an important role in all walks of life. Qatar Airways has tapped into this zeitgeist by entering the metaverse. The carrier has launched its own virtual reality experience, which users can access via its website. One of the most striking aspects is the presence of virtual cabin crew.

The Airways is well known for signifying that a product is unique to the airline by adding the letter Q to the start of the word in question. For example, its QSuites are one of the most revered business class products in the skies. Unsurprisingly, it has applied a similar tactic here, calling its online world the QVerse.

Metaverse technology is defined by being made up of a network of virtual worlds, and Qatar Airways has used this opportunity to allow passengers to take a look inside its aircraft from the comfort of their homes. 

However, the experience is more thorough than just a cabin showcase, and it starts at a virtual premium check-in area. Regarding the new virtual experience, CEO Akbar Al Baker said.
