BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 12. Georgia's trade
turnover with Turkey from January through February 2022 amounted to
$354.3 million, which is an increase of 42.5 percent, compared to
$248.5 million over the same period of 2021, Trend reports via the
National Statistics Office (Geostat).
Turkey's share accounted for 13.9 percent of the total foreign
trade turnover of Georgia in the reporting period of 2022, while
over the same period of 2021 this index accounted for 15
percent.
Thus, Turkey remained the top Georgian trade turnover partner
from January through February 2022, followed by Russia ($274.6
million) and Azerbaijan ($248.8 million).
Meanwhile, Georgia's exports to Turkey in the reporting period
of 2022, accounting for 7.7 percent of total exports, increased by
30.2 percent to $58.8 million, compared to $45.2 million over the
same period of 2021.
Turkey ranked fifth among main Georgia's partners by exports.
Meanwhile, China ($95.4 million), Russia ($92.8 million), and
Azerbaijan ($92.3 million) were the TOP-3.
Georgian imports from Turkey from January through February 2022,
accounting for 16.6 percent of the total imports, increased by 44.9
percent to $295.4 million, compared to $203.8 million over the same
period of 2021.
Turkey remained Georgia's main partner by imports, followed by
Russia ($181.7 million) and Azerbaijan ($156.4 million).
Meanwhile, Georgia's foreign trade turnover (excluding
non-declared trade) from January through February 2022 amounted to
$2.5 billion, which is an increase of 49.2 percent, compared to
$1.6 billion over the same period of 2021, and 38.8 percent,
compared to the reporting period of 2020 ($1.8 billion).
