Turkey criticizes compulsory exile in conquered Eastern Jerusalem

(MENAFN) Turkey criticized the compulsory expatriate of the Salhiyeh family from their house in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in conquered East Jerusalem.

In a declaration, the Turkish Foreign Ministry affirmed the decisions that caused the exile of Palestinians in Sheikh Jarrah and other parts of the conquered lands "contravene international law and human rights."

It added "Israel's unilateral practices, which erode the demographic and legal status of Jerusalem, undermine the vision of a two-state solution and the ground for lasting peace."

Israeli troops destroyed a Palestinian house at the center of an anti-expulsion drive in the neighborhood.
