Asia’s stocks end on a negative note on Wed


(MENAFN) Numerous Asian stock markets ended on a negative note on Wednesday, due to ongoing inflation and omicron worries.

The Asia Dow, which covers the nation’s blue-chip corporations, ended at 3,777 points, dropping by 62.95 points, or 1.64 percent.

The Nikkei 225 index in Tokyo dropped 790.02 points, or 2.80 percent, to close at 27,467. As the Shanghai Composite Index plummeted by 11.73 points, or 0.33 percent, to end at 3,558. As for India’s Sensex index, IT tumbled by 644.16 points, or 1.06 percent, to end at 60,110.

The benchmark for blue-chip corporations’ stock exchanges, Hang Seng and Hong Kong, rose by 15.25 points, or 0.43 percent, to reach 24,112. Whereas the Singapore index increased by 3.90 points, or 0.12 percent, to end the day at 3,283.
