Iraq, Lebanon sign deal to enhance military collaboration


(MENAFN) On Tuesday, Iraq and Lebanon inked a memorandum of understanding for enhancing army collaboration between both nations.

The contract was inked during a gathering between Iraqi Defense Minister Juma Inad and his Lebanese partner Maurice Selim in his present trip to the capital Baghdad.

According to the Iraqi Defense Ministry statement, the agreement intends to “develop bilateral military relations” between both Arab nations.

On Monday, the Lebanese defense minister encountered Iraq’s National Security Adviser Qassim al-Araji to talk about methods of boosting security and army partnership.

On Oct. 25, Lebanon’s Prime Minister Najib Mikati encountered his Iraqi partner Mustafa al-Kadhimi in Baghdad where they talked about mutual ties and local advances along with counter-terrorism collaboration.
