Doha: The State of Qatar, represented by the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA), participated in the third international conference on measures to prevent corruption, which was organised by Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission (PACC), via video communication technology under the name“Measures to Prevent Corruption in the Public Sector: Governance, Effectiveness, and Compliance.”

President of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, H E Hamad bin Nasser Al Misnad, delivered a speech in which he stressed on the importance of ACTA's participation in this event, given the strong and solid relations that bind Qatar and Palestine, and within the framework of the interest that Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani attaches to strengthening bilateral relations and providing all possible means of support in all fields to the State of Palestine. Furthermore, he said such conferences are constantly gaining ground as platforms for discussing common challenges and ways to overcome them, and for exchanging national experiences in the field of enhancing integrity and anti-corruption.

He further explained that the timing of the conference in which ACTA is participating for the second time has an important symbolism, as it coincides with the International Anti-Corruption Day, which is an international occasion to reflect on the achievements in promoting integrity and anti-corruption and to discuss the common challenges facing all of us in combating corruption and ways to overcome them.

He pointed to the importance of participating in this occasion, stressing that the development of the means and conditions for committing crimes, renews the challenges of corruption, which requires continuous updating of prevention and control mechanisms.
