Saudi Arabia’s biggest gold mine to start producing in 2022

(MENAFN) In the first three months of 2022, Saudi Arabia’s largest gold mine is going to initiate the production as the Kingdom plans to ramp up exploitation of its reserves.

During Saudi Arabia’s Future Investment Initiative, Ma'aden CEO Abdulaziz Al-Harbi declared that “In the pipeline, we have a project that will start producing next quarter,” adding that “This project is our largest gold mine.”

Al-Harbi further declared that the project in the Makkah region is using renewable energy for 13 percent of its energy necessities with a strategy to improve it.

The Mansoura and Masarah SR3.3 billion (USD880 million) gold mine project in Al Khurmah Governorate in the Makkah region was estimated to have a production capacity of 250,000 ounces of gold and silver.
