Nigerian official says trade with Turkey to 'rise dramatically'

(MENAFN) Nigerian top trade official said that in the following few years, trade among Turkey and Nigeria is going to increase “dramatically” from its recent level of USD2 billion.

Richard Adeniyi Adebayo, Nigeria’s industry, trade and asset minister, named the forum a “step in the right direction” while updating Anadolu Agency on the Third Turkey-Africa Economic and Business Forum in Istanbul that finished on Friday.

The two days’ forum, planned by Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) in link with the Turkish Trade Ministry and African Union Commission, held nearly 3,000 African and Turkish businesspeople and administration ministers and other top officials from 45 African republics.

Adebayo added “I believe it will bring our countries closer,” “And I also believe that it gives us an opportunity to discuss the various areas of interest, especially trade opportunities, that exist between both countries.”
