Afghanistan's ministry of foreign affairs said that they had progress in their negotiations with the US's special envoy to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad.

Spokesperson of the ministry Abdul Qahar Balkhi in a Twitter post said that the Taliban's negotiations with two administrations of the US, led by Zalmay Khalilzad were fruitful.

The spokesperson in the post added that they are optimistic about moving forward with the new special representative of the US to Afghanistan, Thomas West.

The post further reads that the full administration of the Doha agreement will normalize relations between the US and Afghanistan.

The Taliban praise their relations with former US special representative to Afghanistan as he failed to ensure an agreement between the Taliban and the Afghan government.

Unlike the Taliban, former Afghan officials and Afghan people are not quite happy with a nearly three-year mission of Khalilzad to Afghanistan.

They accuse him of destroying the Afghan government and his contribution to the collapse of the government.

Zalmay Khalilzad stepped down from his post and he was replaced by his deputy Thomas West who led the US's recent talks with the Taliban in Doha.
