(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) ALGIERS, Sept 30 (KUNA) -- Representing His Highness the Amir Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, Foreign Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Dr. Ahmad Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Sabah confirmed the depth of historical relations between Kuwait and Algeria, as the two countries are keen to strengthen them.
This came in a press conference held by Sheikh Ahmad Nasser with the Algerian Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramtane Lamamra Thursday, on the sidelines of his official visit to Algeria.
Sheikh Ahmad Nasser was happy about his second visit to Algeria in nearly five months after his last successful visit on May 5, 2021 and thanked Algeria for the hospitality.
He said he had the honor a while ago to convey the written message from His Highness the Amir to the Algerian President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, wishing Algeria would continue security and progress, in the presence of Lamamra.
The message included the bonds of historical relations that bind both sides and the frameworks for strengthening them.
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nasser conveyed the condolences of His Highness the Amir, the government and the people of Kuwait on the death of former President Abdelaziz Bouteflika and former President Abdelkader Bensalah, recalling their keenness to strengthen the Kuwaiti-Algerian bilateral relations and their constructive role in supporting the joint Arab action process.
He also conveyed to Tebboune the condolences of Kuwait to the Algerian government and people over the victims of the forest fires, and wished a speedy recovery to all the injured.
Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nasser stated that during the meeting with Tebboune, they discussed the development of strong Kuwaiti-Algerian historical relations in all fields.
During the meeting, both ministers tackled close and firm relations between both nations, the latest regional and international developments and ways of cementing Arab solidarity in order to support Arab action, given that Kuwait holds the current 156th presidency of the Council of the Arab League at the ministerial level for six months to come.
